Bluebird Care High Wycombe & Slough has awarded its £1,000 Community Grant to Trafalgar Entertainment Trust (Wycombe Swan Theatre) in support of an exciting new SEND nightclub experience for adults with learning disabilities.

The project will take place at Wycombe Swan’s Old Town Hall on 28th April 2026, and offers a safe, inclusive, and age-appropriate nightlife experience for local adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). With tailored lighting, reduced sound levels, and trained support staff, the event aims to create a welcoming space where attendees can socialise, build confidence, and enjoy music and dancing.

The Bluebird Care Community Grant was launched to support local groups and charities deliver projects that make a meaningful difference in the community. As part of their commitment, Bluebird Care are actively supporting the organisation of the event, and their care professionals will be on hand on the night to help ensure a friendly and supportive environment.

Many adults with learning disabilities face barriers accessing mainstream nightlife, often leading to isolation. This dedicated SEND nightclub experience seeks to remove those barriers and provide a social opportunity designed entirely around their needs.

Norman Murphy, Managing Director of Bluebird Care High Wycombe & Slough, said:

We can't wait to support the SEND Nightclub project and help adults with learning disabilities have fun and feel part of their community. This grant reflects our commitment to making a positive impact locally, and we're excited to see the difference this project will make.

Elle Pethurst, Creative Learning Manager at Trafalgar Entertainment Trust, added:

We're incredibly grateful to Bluebird Care for choosing our project as the winner of their grant. The impact extends beyond the event itself, helping participants build confidence, develop communication skills and feel a stronger sense of belonging, and we can't wait to host it!
