Celebrating 60 years of marriage is a milestone that few couples reach, and for John and Rosemary Miles, their diamond anniversary is a testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and cherished memories.
Recently, a visit was made to congratulate them in person, bringing a card and gifts from everyone to mark this special occasion. In return, they shared the wonderful story of how it all began.
John and Rosemary’s journey together started at a party, where fate seemed to step in. They instantly connected, spending the entire evening deep in conversation. By the end of the night, John ensured Rosemary got home safely - on his motorbike, with her riding in the sidecar! That night was just the beginning of a love story that would span decades.
From that moment on, the pair were inseparable. They courted for a year, meeting every single night, regardless of the weather, work commitments, or anything else that might have stood in their way. Their devotion to each other was clear from the very start.
When John asked Rosemary to marry him, they chose to honour the anniversary of their first meeting by selecting the closest Saturday for their wedding day. On 13th February 1965, they exchanged vows at Dartford Registry Office, beginning a new chapter as husband and wife.
Now, six decades on, John and Rosemary continue to share a bond built on love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their story is a beautiful reminder of what it means to find a soulmate and nurture a lifelong partnership.
As they celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, we send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for many more happy years together.
