Company owner wins prestigious care award

Gabi Sprechert, the owner and director of Bluebird Care Fareham, has been recognised by The Great British Care Awards, by winning the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care’.

Bluebird Care Fareham were up for a staggering six nominations at The South East GBCA Awards, but ultimately claimed one of the most prestigious awards of the evening.

Gabi’s career began as a student nurse in 1990, before progressing in roles such as Deputy Matron, Auxiliary Nurse, Domiciliary Care Manager, Associate Director for a domiciliary care organisation, and Operations Director in a service for brain injury patients.

Gabi’s stellar career has led her to leading Bluebird Care, where she is now owner and director of the Fareham franchise. As a single mother to two boys, Gabi balances her work commitments by giving everything to her staff and customers with the challenges of bringing up her family.

And over the last 18 months, Gabi’s compassion, leadership and knowledge successfully steered the Bluebird Care Fareham team through the Covid-19 Global pandemic. Her attitude shone through to the Fareham team, who went the extra mile to ensure customers were not lonely or unsafe.

To win the award for Outstanding Contribution to Social Care, one has to show dedication, professionalism and ultimate commitment to their work. Gabi has done that; creating a company culture whereby the quality of care is paramount and comes above quantity. The customer’s needs come first and foremost to her.
