Investing in Training for our Devon Bluebirds

Additional training sessions for our Community Care Assistants.

Nikki, our Training Support Supervisor, recently completed some additional training for a Care Assistant who needed a little more reassurance in his practice.

The additional training was tailored around the Care Assistant and the questions he had following his probation period. The training included further practice and information about Manual Handling Procedure and Medication.

“Nikki and I sat down and discussed the areas I needed support on. She arranged the 1-to-1 training, and we covered all the areas I was not confident on. This has been a valuable experience for me and now I feel 100 % more confident than I was before, and I certainly recommend this for anyone to take this up if they feel they need any further training or just to refresh their knowledge”

Additional training sessions like these are always offered for Care Assistants who may need some extra reassurance with their practice in the field. It allows for 1-to-1 training addressing any carer concerns in a relaxed atmosphere.

All PPE is worn throughout these sessions, and hand washing completed at appropriate times to ensure COVID compliance and safety, as well as disinfection of the training room and equipment before and after the session.

This is all part of the ongoing support our care assistants receive working with us at Bluebird Care Exeter, Exmouth, East & West Devon. We also offer in-house induction training where practical sessions are completed with full personal protective equipment worn to ensure the safety of all participants. This ensures the delivery of safe hands-on training preparing our staff within their roles of Community Care Assistants.
