Healthcare at home from Bluebird Care in Cheltenham

Home care in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Bishops Cleeve and Churchdown

In any business, you must strive to be either the cheapest, or the best. I’ve never aspired to being described as the cheapest!

Gareth Powick, Director.

When we first started delivering Domiciliary Care in Cheltenham, that there were many obvious challenges facing the Homecare industry, and many home care agencies were not doing anything to overcome them. All of this resulted in a very poor experience for the people who matter most – the customers, and their families.

In the last 15 years we have taken an uncompromising stance, always prioritising excellence over corner-cutting in a constant drive to improve the quality of our homecare services.

We believe that we provide the best healthcare at home in Cheltenham – however, if you wished to compare our level of service with that of any other homecare agency, the details are below.

Our Homecare Teams

We are considered one of the best home care agencies in Cheltenham and beyond due to our incredible staff. We retain and recruit the best team by offering them the best pay and conditions while making sure they all undergo a 13-week training course which will ensure they are capable of delivering the highest quality of care and the high standard our customers expect.

Our Team Specialisms

Each of our local areas is covers by a small, dedicated team of professional carers (usually 4-6 people). Each Carer in your team will have a specialism which they are studying, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to your home every week. Our current specialisms are:

Clinical Upskilling

This one-year course is delivered by NHS trainers, and is drawn from the first year of training that Nurses receive. Each carer with this specialty will have an enhanced understanding of Nutrition and Hydration needs, Falls Prevention, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Diabetes, Recognising Deterioration and End-of-Life care as a minimum, and have a mission to ensure that all of your physical health needs are met, and that your wellness is proactively maintained.

Dementia Care

We have a Dementia Care program which is widely recognized for its excellence. Our Dementia Specialists are dedicated to ensuring that anyone experiencing memory problems continues to live a well-rounded, safe and fulfilling lifestyle. Click here for more details…

End-of-Life

Our Palliative Care specialists will be able to support you with all of your physical healthcare at home needs, and will have the time to talk with you about whatever you want, and to spend time with your family or friends too, if they need support or advice. They will get to know you well, and be able to recognize small changes in your well-being. For more information click here…

Holistic Wellbeing

Our Wellbeing specialists are dedicated to finding ways for our customers to get the most enjoyment out of life, especially under challenging circumstances. We can arrange one-off events through our SMILE campaign, but our real specialism is helping people find regular activities which will bring some joy into their lives. Click here to see more…

Our Customer Service

Visit Times

Because we deal with complex healthcare issues, and will never leave a customer who needs more assistance, some fluctuation in call times is inevitable. We will normally agree a target visit time with you when you first commission home help services from us, unless there are special exceptions. The service that we promise to provide is that we will not deviate by more than 30 minutes from that target time, and that you will always know in advance what the exact time we will arrive will be.

Communication

Once of the worst things that can happen is not having help when you need it, so we will always make you aware of any changes to your home care assistance. You can talk to somebody from Bluebird at any time between 7am and 10pm, and they can help you with whatever inquiry you have or to make changes to your homecare. Care notes can be shared to chosen people as they are written if you require, enabling family members or healthcare professionals to always stay up to date.
