For a long time, most people's first contact with us has been a phone call. That works well, but deciding on care for someone you love is a big step. Plenty of people would rather sit down, face to face, and ask their questions over a cup of tea. Now you can.
What you'll find when you walk in
The office is where our care team plans every visit we make across Bridgwater, Sedgemoor, Minehead and West Somerset. You might meet:
- Alice, our office administrator, who is usually the first friendly voice families hear
- Rose, our care coordinator, who matches carers with customers and works out rotas around the things that matter to people (the 9am cup of tea, the Wednesday lunch club, the dog walk)
- Dinah, our care manager, who carries out assessments and writes care plans
- Ben, our registered manager, who is responsible for the quality and safety of our care
You don't need an appointment to pop in during office hours, though if you'd like a proper sit-down with Dinah or Ben, a quick call to 01278 488799 first means they'll be free.
Why an office in town matters
It might seem odd for a home care company to care much about its own building. Our carers spend their days in other people's homes, not ours. But a town centre office changes a few things:
- Carers drop in more. Training, supervision and catch-ups happen here, so the people looking after your family stay connected to the team behind them.
- Families can pop in. If you're a son or daughter juggling work and caring, it's easier to call in on your lunch break than to find time for a long phone call.
- We're part of the town. We want to be the people you see in the café or on the high street, not a name on a website.
A good place to start, even if you're not sure yet
You don't have to be ready to arrange care to visit us. Lots of people come in with a vague worry: Dad isn't eating properly, Mum has had a fall, a neighbour seems lonely. We're happy to talk it through, explain what kinds of help exist (including help that isn't from us) and point you in the right direction.
If care at home does sound right, we'll arrange a free visit to the person's own home to talk about what they need and want.
