Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is supporting Carers Week 2016, an annual campaign which takes place from 6-12 June. Carers Week is supported and sponsored by many organisations, charitable and otherwise, including Carers UK, Age UK, Independent Age, Carers Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and Sainsbury’s.

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells support Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Month 2016

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is supporting Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Awareness Month this June, an annual campaign run by the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. With up to 5,000 adults in the UK living with MND and six people per day in the UK diagnosed with the condition, the work the MND Association undertakes is vital.

Launching our Career Journey

Here at Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells, our goal is to give our Care Assistants as many opportunities as possible to build a meaningful career in care and are pleased to announce that we have have just launched our Career Pathway that forms part of our Career Journey. To achieve this, we have worked hard to develop five roles that form our Career Pathway to give our Care Assistants structured career progression throughout their career with us.

Hospice in the Weald Awarded First Community Grant

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is pleased to announce that Hospice in the Weald has been awarded the first ever Bluebird Care community grant. The grant of £500 was presented on 17th May and will go towards the refurbishment of the bedrooms on the Hospice In-Patient Unit. Each of 15 single occupancy rooms are light and spacious, but in need of modernisation and redecoration including the en-suite shower rooms.

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is supporting Dementia Awareness Week 2016, an annual campaign run by the Alzheimer’s Society from 15– 21 May 2016. The Alzheimer’s Society are the UK's leading dementia support and research charity, supporting people living with any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We are pleased to be supporting Parkinson’s Awareness Week 2016, an annual campaign run by Parkinson’s UK, from 18-24 April. Parkinson’s UK are the leading UK charity associated with leading, influencing and funding research to ensure new and better treatments for the condition.

Congratulations to Maureen Reader - Care Worker of the Year

Maureen Reader, Care Worker with Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells has been announced as Care Worker of the year. The award is a great achievement and creates an opportunity to celebrate good care. The award was presented by Cllr David Elliott and Cllr June Crowhurst, Mayor and Mayoress of Tunbridge Wells at a special afternoon tea, held on 3rd March.
