Our dedicated Care Assistants are at the heart of Bluebird Care. Which is why we would like to introduce you to one of our many incredible team members, Aurora.

Before starting a career in care, there's usually that lightbolt moment when you realise it's the right path for you, and that you'd truly thrive as a Bluebird Care Assistant. For Aurora, that moment came after years of selflessly caring for her family and children at home. Being able to be part of her journey in care has been nothing short of inspiring, watching her grow both personally and professionally.

Reflecting on her time so far at Bluebird Care, Aurora shares, “I’m now spending more time outdoors visiting customers and sharing childcare and homecare responsibilities with my husband. This career has given me the work/life balance I need for a more independent life.”

When asked to sum up a career in care in just three words, Aurora chose “Compassion, professionality, empathetic.” These qualities define not only her but also our entire team of Care Assistants. It's through incorporating these traits into our everyday lives that we can provide the highest standard of care to those we support, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding in every interaction.

Our Care Assistants bring not only compassion and kindness to our customers across the community but also a unique set of skills. Aurora reveals, “My hidden talent is problem-solving! And I also pride myself on strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. These skills have been invaluable in my role, allowing me to connect with my customers on a deeper level.”

Aurora's favourite aspect of working in care? “The ability to leave the world a bit better than when you found it. It's a drop in the ocean, but millions of drops make the ocean.” What a beautiful quote!
