Sevenoaks pensioners offered free lift to the polls courtesy of Bluebird Care volunteers!

On election day 2015, Bluebird Care Sevenoaks offered local pensioners a complimentary lift to their local poll booth to cast their vote. The offer was open to the general public and not restricted to existing customers of our homecare services.

Care Manager Debbie Moulton told the Sevenoaks Chronicle: “Older people’s votes will be extremely important on May 7. But many either can’t get to the polling station or don’t have the confidence to go out on their own. My team works with the elderly on a daily basis, providing care and support at home and out in the community, so it made sense for us to help as many as we could to cast their vote. It’s a free service, we won’t make any money for it, but it’s the responsible thing to do. We’re not working for any political party. Our only intention is to get people safely to the polling booth, wait for them to cast their vote, and then get them safely home again.”
