Bluebird Care Merton are awarded the Gold Standard Framework (GSF) Accreditation for palliative (end-of-life) care.

Bluebird Care Merton have been awarded the Gold Standard Framework (GSF) Accreditation for palliative (end-of-life) care. They are one of only a few home care providers in the country to hold this award – with only three home care organisations receiving it last year.

To achieve the Gold Standard Framework, the team at Bluebird Care Merton have demonstrated that they meet independent quality standards when it comes to supporting people in their last year of life.

The framework is an independent charity which has been running for over twenty-five years across health and care settings, and is a practical and evidence-based training and guidance programme for all those involved in end-of-life care. It is a nationally recognised accreditation program that sets the benchmark for excellence in this important and sensitive type of care.

The accreditation process involves a rigorous assessment of various aspects of care provision, including communication, coordination, and the overall quality of care delivered. Bluebird Care Merton demonstrated exemplary practices in each of these areas, showcasing its commitment to ensuring that individuals receive the best possible care and support during their final stages of life.

Jay Patel, Director of Bluebird Care Merton, said:

We are truly honoured to receive the Gold Standard Framework Accreditation, as it is a testament to our team's dedication to providing exceptional end-of-life care to our customers and their families. This achievement reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compassion, dignity, and support for those in our community facing challenging times. The team have worked really hard to meet every criteria in the framework, and they deserve this recognition.

Martine Gillfillian, Care Manager, Bluebird Care Merton, said:

Being able to be there for people and their families at the end of their life is a huge honour – and to be recognised with this accreditation means a lot to all of us who provide end-of-life care to our customers. I’m grateful to our whole team for their support in helping us to achieve this milestone.
