Bluebird Care, one of the leading home care providers in the UK, has launched a nationwide campaign to support those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

With over 200 offices across the country, Bluebird Care is appealing to their customers, employees and communities to contribute to a fundraising drive for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

In addition to this, many of their offices are taking individual action in aid of the situation in Ukraine. Bluebird Care Exeter, North, East and West Devon have committed themselves to raising £15,000 for medical supplies for Odesa. The regional directors – Will Flint and Sara Flint – are actively sourcing vital medical supplies such as antibiotics and thyroid medication as well as creams like Sudocrem which are desperately needed. So far €17,000 worth of medical equipment has been shipped on 18th March with more donations expected soon.

For two solid weeks, Bluebird Care Lancaster & South Lakeland united staff members, customers and their families to bring in donations amounting up to an impressive £755 as well as a stockpile of essential supplies for those on the frontline. Claire Evans, director of the franchise division expressed her team's obligation to do something and said that they "couldn't just stand by" during this crisis.

Ross Perkins is a sculptor who works at Bluebird Care South Somerset, West Dorset & Purbeck. He is donating money from the sale of his artworks to Ukraine. One of his pieces, a steel anchor made from aluminium, can be bought for £200 at The George Hotel in Castle Cary.

Bluebird Care Rushmoor & Surrey Heath have generously pledged £5 to the DEC for every uplifting note shared in support of Ukrainians, and many team members are already sharing words of kindness. In addition, their offices across Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell Windsor & Maidenhead are sending shoeboxes filled with presents to Ukrainian children - they hope that others will join them in this initiative!
