Time To Swap to a Career in Care?

Published: 31/10/2020

During these unprecedented times, we need our trusted Care Assistants more than ever. They are a lifeline for many people, supporting them to stay in their own homes.

Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon continue to provide their usual first-class service within the local community.

The local home care provider, based in Evesham and operating throughout the Worcester and Wychavon area, have many dedicated and long serving Care Assistants who have been with them since launching in 2014. They also have several newly qualified Care Assistants who have swapped their previous careers for a career in care. This can often be quite scary, but it has proved to be extremely rewarding and fulfilling for Julie Fitzpatrick, a recent addition to the care team.

Julie said: “I used to walk my dog every morning not wanting to go to the office and while walking I would see carers arriving with customers and think....I wish I had the guts to get away from the office world and become a full time carer.  When I was furloughed, I started searching for a new job. I applied to Bluebird Care and felt safe to make the huge, exciting move to become a Care Assistant.  The care team and everyone in the office did an amazing job of supporting me.”

Julie added, “I’m about to add to my skills gained in training to further my career.  This was the best decision I ever made.”

David Benjamin, Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon’s owner, said: “We have been delighted to welcome many new Care Assistants, alongside Julie, and we always ensure that we offer all the training and support necessary. We make sure that anyone joining our team is welcomed and well-supported from the moment they join us and throughout their career.”
