Sunshine & Scones: Customer Afternoon Tea
This summer we decided to do an afternoon tea and share time with all our customers. Knowing how much they love to have some friendly conversations, meet new and familiar faces, we put on an afternoon of tea, cakes, music, games and pure time together – giving everyone a chance for some fun and laughter, gathering for a relaxed afternoon tea.
Holt Village Hall was a perfect venue for our sunshine, scones, and conversations as we hosted our Sunshine & Scones Afternoon Tea on July 10th. This event was more than just tea and cake, it was a great example of the pleasure it brings to those that don’t always get out and often don’t even get time to relax or aren’t mobile enough to travel around and see new places and faces.
New friendships are formed, and this time we share together creates something really special.
Our team, including Directors Nigel, Nell and Lesley, alongside Registered Care Manager Donna, came together with carers, supervisors, and of course, our amazing customers, to enjoy a relaxed and heartwarming afternoon.
The afternoon was filled with sandwiches, cream teas, cakes and sweet treats; a beautiful saxophone played by one of our carers gave us live tunes to enjoy and conversations buzzed around the room. A postcard quiz sparked memories as guests tested their local knowledge with vintage images of Bradford on Avon, while the raffle brought fun prizes and a bit of cheeky competition. No one was excluded and even customers in wheelchairs, with less mobility or no transport were brought to the event personally by members of the care team, ensuring that everyone who wanted to come could be included.
A special thank you goes to our fantastic event coordinator, Rachel Andrews, for orchestrating every last detail and creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and Jess for making everyone feel cared for and welcome.
At Bluebird Care Wiltshire North, we believe that care is more than a day-to-day service - it’s about connection, belonging, and shared moments.
As one guest put it,
“Lovely, pleasant afternoon tea – enjoyed meeting other service users.”
“Very musical, lots to laugh about – a lovely time.”
“Great to meet other staff – lovely company.”
“Delicious food – do this again!”
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
At Bluebird Care, our customers aren’t just customers – they are the reason we are in the business of care at home.
