Home Is Where The Heart Is - Joseph's Story

Published: 16/07/2021

It's the small gestures that mean the most, such as taking our customers shopping, going for coffee, or giving them a birthday cake on their special day.

At Bluebird Care Westminster & City of London, we strive to make our customers happy, and that is why Customer Care Manager, Miguel, went above and beyond for customer, Joseph, to remain in his own home.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, Joseph's goal has been to remain in his home for as long as possible. But, this has meant needing the correct equipment at home. Unfortunately, Joseph's beloved flat lives on the top floor of a narrow building, making it incredibly difficult for big deliveries.

Joseph needed a recliner chair from MediQuip to help keep him comfortable and to help elevate his legs. After numerous delivery attempts and home becoming increasingly difficult without the recliner chair, Joseph was concerned for his independence. However, Bluebird Care Westminster & City of Londons' Customer Care Manager, Miguel, was determined to fulfil Joseph’s wish.

Miguel worked tirelessly with MediQuip to ensure that the recliner chair would be delivered at a specific time and in smaller parts. After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, Miguel and MediQuip's delivery driver ensured that Joseph had his recliner chair in the comfort of his own home.

Daisy, Joseph's neighbour, has expressed her gratitude on Homecare.co.uk, praising Joseph’s experience with Bluebird Care Westminster & City of London; "The team has been excellent at looking after my neighbour. Often going beyond the normal requirements to find his favourite cereal or help with medical issues. I no longer have to worry about him, so this is a huge weight off my shoulders."

Customer Care Manager, Miguel, said "It's our priority as a care company to ensure that all of our customers are satisfied with their needs, and we want to improve their wellbeing while helping them maintain their independence. I am delighted that we have been able to help support Joseph, and we will continue to ensure he is receiving the highest quality of care from us."
