Bluebird Care donate to local youth charity

Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO) is a charity set up to support young people in the local area. The team have spent the last year raising funds, learning basic Swahili and preparing for the work they will do in Kenya. The ten day visit will involve assisting local teachers in two schools working with 400 HIV orphans.

As part of the support each member of the team has been asked to travel out with two suitcases and to leave without them. The local home care provider has made an offer of medical supplies to the team and wish them well for the trip ahead.

Robert Mezo, Director of Bluebird Care (Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire) said,

“One of our staff mentioned her niece, Courtney, was travelling to Kenya as part of the YoCO trip and after hearing about the great work they do we thought we could offer some support.

We were advised to provide surgical gloves as they can be a great asset for the clinics in the community so Courtney will have as many as she can carry.

It’s brilliant to get involved with community efforts such as this that make such a tremendous impact on so many lives.”

Bluebird Care is a national provider of care in the home, specialising in working with customers who live with dementia, physical disabilities and many other acute and chronic conditions.
