The team celebrate in style at our annual Summer Party!

In August we celebrated our brilliant Devon Bluebirds from our Exeter, East Devon and Exmouth hubs at our annual summer party.

In August we celebrated our brilliant Devon Bluebirds from our Exeter, East Devon and Exmouth hubs at our annual summer party.

The celebration was in recognition of their ongoing hard work and dedication. With Pimms and cream teas a-plenty at The Cat and Fiddle Inn, it was a great opportunity to socialise with friends and family. There was also a table of fabulous raffle prizes including a week of school holiday football training donated by Exeter City Community Trust.

Long Service Award winners

We know how lucky we are to retain knowledgeable and highly skilled staff in such a competitive industry. In recognition of our staff’s dedication and effort, we handed out bubbly and gift vouchers to those who are celebrating an anniversary - collectively, we celebrated 29 years of service.

Kim Clark from our East Devon hub is one of our longest serving care assistants at six years. Emma Durston and Rachel Baker, our East Devon Supervisor have completed four years. Claire Hamlyn and Jade Simpson, our SPOA night supervisor three years, Sylvie Tomas-Frenette two years. While care assistants; Charlotte Smith, Nina Hamilton, Susan Hitchcock, Danielle Barrington, Emily Bird SPOA, Marie Callister and Exmouth Supervisor, Katie Reeves, have all completed one year of service.

We look forward to celebrating more anniversaries in the coming years.

Award Winners

Congratulations to Imogen Cornelius, Katie Reeves and Carol King who took away the Rising Star Award in recognition of their recent efforts. These ladies are all new to care, have embraced the role wholeheartedly and have received lots of positive feedback.

Chelsea Rutherford, Nina Hamilton and Georgina Ellis have gone Above and Beyond this year in their work for Bluebird Care. This award is for members of staff who have gone the extra mile for our customers.   

Our Care Assistants of the Year this year are Sylvie Thomas-Frenette, Susan Hitchcock and Wioletta Andrzejczak, all of whom have demonstrated passion, dedication and empathy.

Emily Bird won SPOA Care Assistant of the Year, Hilma Fritz was delighted to win Live-in Carer of the year. Our Office Employee of the Year award went to Sheila Soloman in accounts.                         

William Flint, our Company Director, said:

“It was fantastic to spend an afternoon with so many of the Team at the Summer Party.  For me it is the best day at ‘work’ all year, seeing everyone having time to socialise and enjoy themselves and having the opportunity to say thank you and well done to the team means a lot to Sara and I.”
