Meet the team behind the scenes here at Bluebird Care Wellingborough's office. A dedicated and passionate team, devoted to promoting independence, and delivering support.

Nick Ward

Principle Franchise Director

Nick is responsible for the financial & commercial aspects of the business.

Before setting up Bluebird Care Wellingborough; Nick had been working as a response worker/ personal assistant for a learning disability specialist domiciliary care provider. This gave him a valuable insight as to the service needed by vulnerable individuals so that they can stay in their own homes and receive support. In that role he had the opportunity to take an active role in joint working with other services to ensure the care provision met the individual's needs and most importantly their "wants".
Nick is a qualified ROSPA Moving & Handling instructor.


In previous roles Nick has worked as both a manager and team member. Nick feels that this experience helps him with the managing of the service, whilst understanding the needs and concerns of the ground level staff. Nick's background was routed in the Military and Police Force until he felt compelled to see the world. He travelled extensively and spent time as an expedition leader, a scuba diving guide, a Scout Leader for The Boy Scouts of America and an activity instructor, amongst other things!

Becky Upcraft

Registered Care Manager

Becky is the Registered Care Manager.


Becky is responsible for ensuring the service not only meets, but exceeds the legal and organisational compliance standards. Endeavouring to continually maintain a high quality provision and meeting the expectations of the people who receive the care as well as those in their circle of support.

 

I started working for Bluebird Care Wellingborough as Deputy Manager in September 2011 and was promoted to the Care Manager position and gained my Registration in 2014. I have been working in various care settings since 2002 and in a leadership role since 2008.

My day to day responsibilities include the safe and compliant running of the business from all organisational aspects. I do the auditing and monitoring of our paperwork to ensure we are always compliant with our regulator, (CQC) as well as maintaining our consistant high standards of care delivery.


I have attained qualifications in: NVQ 3, 4 & 5 in Health & Social Care & LDQ 3 Award in Supporting Adults with a Learning Disability. I have also undertaken other relevant training that will benefit me in performing in this role.

Clare Smith

Deputy Manager

Clare is our Deputy Manager.
She manages the team of Support Supervisors and ensures the customer experience is of a high standard.


Clare came to us from a learning disability home care specialist. She is responsible for ensuring that the care delivered is appropriate to the customers wants and needs. Her responsibilities include undertaking assessments of new customers, setting up the care provision, including ensuring that the individual is aware of all funding requirements and terms of the provision. She liaises with the coordination team to assign appropriately trained carers. She arranges and attend reviews for customers and liaises with external professionals as necessary.

Clare is also part of our on-call emergancy team, providing around-the-clock support to our carers and customers, out of office hours.

Clare has an NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care, is a Dementia Trainer and a Dementia Friend. She has a person centred approach in both her management style and delivery of care to her customers. Her organisational skills are second to none and is a great representative for Bluebird Care in every capacity.

Danielle Hallett

Service Coordinator & Staff Trainer

Danielle Is responsible for staff selection, including interviewing & undertaking necessary DBS checking.


Danielle has been with the company since 2010. She is responsible for staff interviewing & undertaking necessary DBS checking. Danielle is also a member of our training team; ensuring all new staff members recieve top quality induction training, and that all current staff are refreshed, with up to date knowledge every 6 months.

She is also part of the on-call emergency team, and continues to provide direct care to our customers and carers in the evenings and at weekends. Danielle has an NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. She has worked tirelessly to help grow the business and her dedication, hard work and loyalty make her a valuable and integral member of the team.

Verity Freeman

Care Coordinator

Verity Is our Care Coordinator

 

Verity First joined Bluebird Care Wellingborough as a carer, and has since been promoted to Care Coordinator. 

Verity's main responsibility is the rota, working with carer availabilities to ensure the coninuity of care for all customers. She works with our customers, their families, carers and management team to ensure all needs are met for each individual.

Verity manages our online pressence, including our website, all social media platforms and review pages. This includes responding to queries & applications, requesting feedback, and setting up campaigns for recruitment. Verity also works with the Regional Marketing Manager who together, manage our Marketing strategies. 

Verity is a member of our on-call emergancy team, providing around-the-clock support to our carers and customers, out of office hours.

Laura Donald

Support Supervisor

Laura is a support supervisor

 

Laura joined Bluebird Care as a carer back in 2014. She has since been promoted to a supervisory role. Laura supports the deputy manager, as well as a team of carers on a day-today basis. Laura is also responsible for hosting supervisions, and carrying out observations. 

Laura is also part of our on-call emergancy team, providing around-the-clock support to our carers and customers, out of office hours.
