Meet our team of care professionals

Tania Orbell
Care Coordinator

I started working at Bluebird Care in September 2019 as the Care Coordinator.

I previously worked in a local primary school for over 10 years as a teaching assistant but once my own children left school, I decided it was a good time to change career and felt the care industry was the best move as this is something I have been interested in for many years. I enjoy meeting new people and like to help and support others.

My job role is varied at Bluebird Care and I have transferred my skills into this fulfilling role, I have a good telephone manor, am kind and considerate and a great problem solver. I have great organisational, and prioritisation skills and work well under pressure.

Bluebird Care is a great company to work for as they really do look after our customer’s every whim and our carers too. Everyone who works for the company have the customer’s best interests at heart and I am very proud to be a part of such a positive team.

I am a good communicator, have a good understanding of people’s needs, I am a good listener and have a ‘can do ‘attitude. I am very tech savvy and enjoy working with computer software and love a spreadsheet or 2.

My role working with a group of likeminded people gives me real job satisfaction.

In my spare time I love being with family and friends, reading mystery stories and going for long walks with the dogs.

Sandra Hennessy
Care Supervisor

I am a Care Supervisor for Bluebird Care and I have worked here for 6 years. I started as a carer and was soon promoted to Care Supervisor after completing care for only 1 year.

Before starting with Bluebird Care, I used to work in Residential Care, I worked there for 15 years, I started as a carer then become a Care Team Manager, the training there was excellent and I completed my NVQ LEVEL 2 AND 3. I have also completed a Level 2 in Dementia care which awarded me leadership in Dementia. I have many more qualifications in this field and I am also one of the trainers to which I teach the Manual Handling and Dementia Awareness subjects.

I have many years of experience in care which I love, I like to share my experience with the carers and others.

I have two children Darrel my son and Becky my daughter, I now have three beautiful grandchildren and really enjoy being a nanny.

Susan Jones
Care Supervisor

I have worked in health and social care for many years, having 20 years of management experience in residential homes for the elderly and young adults with learning disabilities. I love to help people and get great job satisfaction in doing so

I am compassionate and self-assured and have the knowledge and ability to model good practice, having NVQ 5 in health and social care and a teaching qualification gives me a wealth of knowledge and experience to enjoy working for Bluebird Care, which is a bespoke care company.

I really love my role of supervisor; we are the link between the customer and our Bluebird Care service

I have excellent communication and people skills, which builds trusting relationships with customers, their families, staff and other professionals such as district nurses, GPs and occupational therapists.

I am compassionate, self-assured and have a genuine caring nature.

Working for the Bluebird Care brand suits me and I am proud to be part of a strong supportive team, championing the rights of our customers.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, I enjoy Bell Ringing and supporting my local church in various volunteering roles and travelling

Hayley Plaster
Registered Care Manager

I started working for Bluebird Care in 2013 as a care worker with no experience. Previous to this I was working in bars and cafés as a bar attender / kitchen assistant. My mother suffered with M.S and had carers visiting most of her adult life, right up until she passed away at a young age of 48, I felt care was a great industry for me to get involved in and wanted to be able to make a difference.

As soon as I started as a care worker, I felt the values of Bluebird Care were very close to my heart. Roughly a year later I had completed my level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care and was promoted to Care Supervisor. I really enjoyed being support for the team and our service users. I was in this role for around 5 years, after completing my level 3 in Health and Social Care, I was then promoted to Care Coordinator. Coordinating care is not an easy task but I feel the team responded well to me and saw me as a role model within the company.

Since May 2023 I have been Care Manager for both teams (Watford & Three Rivers and Chiltern & Dacorum) – receiving my registration in October 2023. I am currently completing my level 5 in leadership and management. I very much enjoy my role and challenges that come with it. I am always looking for ways to expand my professional development.

In my own time I enjoy reading a good thriller / mystery book and spending time with my family and friends.

Dawn Forey
Office Manager

I started my career with Bluebird Care in June 2010 as a supervisor, after a short time I then went onto become a Care Co-Ordinator, as the company expanded, I started a new role as Office Administrator and am now Office & Finance Manager.

I love the fact that we are helping people to stay in their own homes with good quality care & Support
