Giving Back to our Community
Deniz Ucar, a close friend of Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, talks about how supporting Bluebird Care has inspired him and enabled him to give back to the charity that is closest to his heart.
The Prince of Wales Hospice have gone above and beyond for me and my family, whether that be with support, love, or taking care of those closest to me on their final journey. Seeing the true support given from the staff to the patients is beyond anything I could imagine. I have always been able to give back through charity events, Santa Dashes, or random donations. However, when the Covid-19 Pandemic hit, the world was put to a sudden and abrupt halt, putting organisations such as the POWH in serious trouble because these charities are NOT funded by the government, but by the public.
Moving into 2021, as things slowly began to get back to a somewhat level of ‘normality’, I was lucky to be able to attend a variety of charity events at various places around West Yorkshire to raise money for The Prince of Wales Hospice, alongside Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees. Being able to participate in these events with such a welcoming, caring, and hardworking organisation such as Bluebird Care has been truly inspiring. It has given me the opportunity to continue giving back to the POWH through tombola stalls, raffles, and much more.
I feel very privileged to not only have represented a phenomenal care company in the Yorkshire District, but I was also granted the chance to speak to members of the public whilst raising money for such a special charity that is held close to my heart.
I cannot thank Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees enough for allowing me to attend their charity events as part of the team and giving me the ability to know that our work is benefitting the life of others, up and down the country.
