Bluebird Care (Wakefield) are working in partnership with Bashforth-Young to place dignity and compassion at the heart of our services within our community.  All care workers at Bluebird Care have signed up to the dignity pledge. Narinder Gill shared her pledge at an afternoon of tea and cake as part of the National Dignity Day campaign and at the same time raised much needed funds for the British Heart Foundation

I believe that we should all have an unconditional positive regard for the people we care for and support.  Becoming a dignity champion ensures we are always conscious about our responsibilities, behaviours and actions towards others.  We listen to, take time to understand and treat our customers with respect in all aspects of their care.”

They were delighted to be joined by Peter Jordon, the Mayor of South Elmsall and Cllr Jan Power and Mr Brendan Power, the Mayor and Consort for Featherstone Town.  Both spoke passionately about the importance of raising the awareness and putting dignity and respect at the heart all our everyday practices

Lynsey Bashforth, who hosted the afternoon at her offices commented:

It is so important to ensure that we are all working together to meet the needs of our communities.  Through my partnership with Bluebird Care I am now also a dignity champion and proud to say that at Bashforth-Young Solicitors we are all Dementia Friendly. We take time to listen non-judgementally, promoting personal choice and independence.

My dignity pledge is:

to treat all my clients with dignity and as individuals’
