Coronation Weekend is coming up!

The coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort is fast approaching! Here's everything we know about the first coronation since Her Majesty the Queen's coronations in 1953, from dates to community celebrations and activities, thanks to Wakefield Council.

A Right Royal Day Out

Head over to Pontefract Castle for a day of coronation community fun! They will be hosting all day, with street performers, coronation crafts and even a screening of Paddington in the afternoon on the big screen.

Right Royal Activities

Libraries in the district are being decorated for the occasion and holding royal-themed craft activities. All libraries will be showing the coronation live, so if you want to experience the event surrounded by the community - feel free to drop into your local!

The Big Lunch

People are taking part in The Big Lunch all over the country, bringing together families and communities to enjoy picnics and good old community spirit!
