A group of our customers and members of staff had a lovely day out to the Theatre Royal Wakefield to see Cinderella read more to find out what they have to say about the day...

Theatre Royal Wakefield has successfully received funding from the Elderly Persons Social Isolation Fund which provides funds to organisations who strive to deliver projects to ''help older people       overcome loneliness and enable them to make a bigger contribution to society''.
Working in partnership, Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees has enabled customers
to take part in creative activities as well as accessing activities and performances at Theatre Royal Wakefield.

Theresa Owen, who has been leading on the project shared
‘it is great to see customers come together for the first session and listening to Aiobhean from Theatre Royal explaining how the actors start with their warm ups before performing.
We joined in with doing face expressions, speaking differently, wearing an item and explained why we had chosen that item.  I am excited at continuing to work with the theatre and our customers next year. We have planned two more trips to the theatre which include wraparound activities, pre and post show and  another practical session at our offices’

The highlight was being able to take our customers to the theatre to see the performance of Cinderella.

Customers shared:
‘What an experience, I enjoyed seeing the children having fun and joining in. I hope there will be other outings like this as it was great to talk to others’ JHa
‘Will I have a part in the play. I loved seeing the children enjoying themselves.’ TL
‘It has been a long time since I have had such fun. Thank you to Bluebird Care.’ MM
