Your Guide to Live-in Care

So, how does Live-in Care work?

From once-a-week check-ins to make sure everything’s ok, to round-the-clock care, we're here to support you or your loved one however we can.

Our care packages are unique, just like you are. Some people might need more support than others, so we tailor our care services to you. We'll support you in whatever way works best for you.

What is live-in care?

Home care typically involves home carers making routine visits to your home, but our live-in care service means you'll have a Care Expert living in your home. They'll support you to live your way, day and night.

Usually, your carer will have a shift of 10 hours with breaks included, but we want to make sure you're safe and happy 100% of the time, so if you need help while your regular carer is away, we'll fill in the gaps!

What does it entail?

We want to meet all your needs - your health and happiness are our top priorities. Your support plan will be personal to you. This could include:

  • Support with dressing/undressing,
  • Waking up/ going to sleep,
  • Meal prepping and cooking,
  • Household chores (light cleaning and tidying),
  • Family/friend visits,
  • Fun outings,
  • Medication management,
  • Personal care (showering, hair/skin care, etc.),
  • Companionship,
  • Pet care,
  • Communication support,
  • Help arranging and attending appointments,
  • Specialist and continence care.

What are the benefits?

Live-in Care allows you to stay in your own home, where you feel safe and comfortable, so there's lots of benefits to it.

1 - There's no need to move out of your home

We'll provide the care and support you need, whenever you need it. No need to make any huge changes to your day-to-day life! Your home is important; it's where you raised your children, where you settle in for the night in the same bed you've slept in for years... it's where you feel safe.

You shouldn't have to go through the stress and disruption of leaving all that behind.

2 - A personal service unique to you

Your needs are considered every step of the way. Your package will be personal to you and support will be available as and when you need it. You don't have to change your schedule for us; we'll change ours for you.

3 - A wide range of care and support

We can support you with most things, including personal care, housework and even social activities like walking around the estate to stretch your legs, attending Church on Sunday mornings, having the family round for tea. 

If you're looking for something a bit more unique, we'd be happy to chat to you about it!

4 - Flexibility

24-hour care allows you to be flexible with your care needs. We'll provide the help and support you need, at the times you need it most. No need to miss out on family gatherings or traditions.

5 - Regular check-ups

We realise your needs may change over time - health isn't always linear. We'll check in regularly to make sure you're still satisfied with your care, and to see if there's anything you want to change. If you feel like you need more support than we're delivering, we'll do our best to fix it.

6 - Fully trained and compassionate Care Experts

Our Care Experts are fully trained to help you with all your care needs. They're also friendly and compassionate people who will respect your privacy and your home.

So, what's our process?

Here's a brief example of the process we'll use when considering your care package:

  1. We'll ask you a few questions about yourself (about your care needs and your health).
  2. We'll contact you to book an assessment, where we'll ask a few more questions about your care needs. We'll also use this as an opportunity to get to know you a bit more, so we can make sure we're providing exactly what you need.
  3. Based on your assessment, our team will create a care plan that is completely personal to you.
  4. We will then select a member of staff we think would best meet your care needs. They'll always be fully trained and background checked before being allocated to you.
  5. We'll check in regularly to make sure you're still happy with your care package, and to see if any changes need to be made to your care plan.
