Food and drink is vital to our health. That’s why we’re delighted to support this year’s Nutrition & Hydration Week running from 13 – 19 March 2017.

Nutrition & Hydration Week aims to highlight and promote nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and even globally. We want to bring the message to Trafford and raise awareness about good nutrition and hydration and highlight the importance of maintaining healthy eating at every age.

Top tips from the experts

Nutricia, an organisation offering advice on advanced medical nutrition, is taking part in the campaign and has put together a very useful fact sheet outlining what good nutrition looks like and how to have a healthy diet. Tips include having plenty of starchy foods, along with fruit and vegetables as well as focusing on foods that are good energy sources. See the fact sheet here

Our team is totally committed to monitoring our customers’ nutrition and hydration levels and we know the difference good diet and proper fluid intake makes to a person’s health.

Helping our customers thrive

Bluebird Care Trafford Operations Manager Amy Stone is evangelical about maintaining and monitoring the correct nutrition and hydration of our customers.

She says “We give our Care Assistants in-depth training about nutrition and hydration and this helps our customers thrive and avoid the numerous problems that can result when a diet falls short. As a care provider, we want to do all we can to support and educate our community about these issues. We encourage everyone to visit the campaign website and download the factsheet which contains key advice on nutrition.”
