Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is pleased to announce that Age UK West Kent Befriending Service has been awarded the second Bluebird Care Community Grant which is to be presented in the next few weeks.

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is pleased to announce that Age UK West Kent Befriending Service has been awarded the second Bluebird Care Community Grant which is to be presented in the next few weeks.

The grant of £500 will go towards the running of the service which makes a big difference to the lives of many older people accross Kent with volunteers giving 1-3 hours of their own time each week.

One volunteer explained: 
I enjoy and look forward to my visits, I have to call my member when I get back home as he worries about me getting back safe.
One member of the service explained:
My Befriender means the world to me, she has given me a new zest for life and a new aspect of the world.
About the Bluebird Care Community Grant, Claire Stanley, Bluebird Care (Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells) Care Manager explained that:
The work that the befriending service do is fantastic and from working with our local carers organisations, we know the value of the work that the service does.

I am delighted to award this grant to such a worthwhile cause and look forward to presenting it very soon.
