A community breakfast club in Hadlow near Tonbridge has received our latest Community grant to purchase new kitchen equipment for their community breakfasts!
Hadlow Parish Council launched its Community Breakfast Club in April to tackle social isolation and loneliness amongst the village’s elderly residents.
The meetups are run by volunteers from the local community and attended by 40-50 people each month.
Our Community Grant will be used to purchase new kitchen equipment in order to expand the range of breakfast options available and cater to a greater number of residents.
We’ve had a tremendous response from the community to our breakfast club and the turnout has been growing steadily. The club performs a really valuable function in our community, bringing people together and establishing links between different generations. It’s also very encouraging to see isolated members of our community coming along to enjoy a breakfast and socialise with their neighbours. We are extremely grateful to Bluebird Care Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells for this generous grant, which will enhance our kitchen facilities and mean that even more people can benefit.
