As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a premium service for our customers, we regularly take customers on free outings and recently arranged for Care Assistant Claire to take her regular customer Joan for lunch to her local Toby Carvery.

Joan, who was born in Gravesend, has lived in the area for her whole life. She was born in her grans house in Milton Hall Road and worked in the Gravesend War Office during WWII.

Care Assistant Claire visits Joan twice per week and often they head out to places like Bluewater for some shopping or on errands.

Joan explained:
I can't get out as much as I used to so Claire's visits make a big difference. I took to her as soon as I met her and we talk a lot! Even about silly things.

We have built up a great friendship and it is really nice to have her as someone who is also trusted and brightens up the day.

It is lovely that we can do something a bit special this week and I can be treated to lunch!
Claire commented:
Joan & I are great friends and we get along really well. She has a fascinating life and is always pointing out how things used to be.

Often we go out to places such as Bluewater, however recently I have been helping Joan out with trips to the hospital.

It is really rewarding to be a part of Joan's life!
