Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells support Carers Rights Day 2016

Bluebird Care Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells is supporting Carers Rights Day 2016, organised by Carers UK on Friday 25th November. Each year Carers Rights Day takes place to inform carers in local communities of their rights and how to get the help and support they need. This year’s theme is ‘Missing out? Know your rights as a carer’, to really encourage individuals to seek the support that they are entitled to and to make sure they know they are not alone.

Each year Carers Rights Day takes place to inform carers in local communities of their rights and how to get the help and support they need. This year’s theme is ‘Missing out? Know your rights as a carer’, to really encourage individuals to seek the support that they are entitled to and to make sure they know they are not alone.

According to Carers UK 6.5 million people across the UK are carers, with loved ones now living longer it is estimated that 6,000 individuals are becoming carers every day. Caring for someone is not easy and Carers UK are there to support these individuals by listening, offering expert advice and informing you of your rights and entitlements as a carer.

Carers UK have over 250 volunteers working hard across the UK to connect carers with their local communities through support groups. Last years’ event meant that the Carers Rights Guides were distributed to over 500 carers, this year Carers UK are hoping to reach even more people but need all the help they can in raising awareness of their campaign.
