Following the success of our first community grant, we are looking to help out the local community once again.

We, Bluebird Care Tamworth & Lichfield, have reignited our Community Grant scheme in an effort to help support older people within the local area.

Following the success of our first community grant, which was donated to a local charity in March 2020, we are looking to once again award £250 to a local group that supports older people in the community.

As a care provider that provides vital support to many older residents across the Staffordshire and North Warwickshire area, we are eager to extend a helping hand of support to a local organisation that shares our mission and purpose.

Staffordshire’s population of older people is higher than national average. With a high proportion of these individuals living at home and requiring support from others, the need for local care services, community organisations, projects, and initiatives is crucial.

Aware of these facts, we are inviting groups or organisations that provide gardening leisure, recreational, or musical activities, for older people to apply for our grant support.

Speaking about the importance of providing support to local community organisations, Martin Lahert, Director here at Bluebird Care Tamworth & Lichfield, said: “As well as providing care and companionship services to people living in their own homes, Bluebird Care Tamworth & Lichfield is passionate about supporting community projects and initiatives.”

“So many neighbourhoods thrive because of volunteers who work tirelessly to run community groups, host events, and provide services that benefit others. Much of this work involves supporting older people who, without regular coffee mornings, daytrips or lunch clubs, would be left isolated at home.”

Speaking about the availability of the grant, Martin added: “The Bluebird Care Tamworth & Lichfield Community Grant will also come with support and advice. We want to work with a local project that gives older people an opportunity to try something new and that will add benefit to their lives.”
