Two students in their 4th year of medical school at the University of Malta have recently spent some time at both the Bluebird Care Medway and Ashford & Swale sites.

Ebony Jaye Giusti 20 years old and Philip Sciberras 21, both wanted to gain some hands on experience in care with customers and in particular delivering care in the customer’s home.

Both students have described the experience as “priceless” as even though they already had the necessary knowledge, they can return to Malta with the experience of having customer interaction on a one to one basis, which is “something we did not have confidence in”.

Both Ebony and Philip will both qualify as doctors of medicine in the next two years.

Charmaine Grech, director of both Bluebird Care Medway and Bluebird Care Ashford & Swale commented;

It was sad to see Ebony and Philip go as they prepare to enter a new year at University, but we would welcome them both back at any time during their holidays”
Bluebird Care Medway & the Ashford & Swale sites intend to invite both Ebony and Philip back next year to deliver training and awareness days to our care assistants, covering topics such as Parkinson’s Awareness, Stroke Awareness and others.
