Bluebird Care Swale supporting Swale Food Bank

*With one in six children living in poverty in the UK*, every day local people are forced to send their children to bed hungry.

Bluebird Care Swale are supporting Swale Foodbank - Charity number 1148652

The foodbank helps local individuals and families in crisis through the provision of emergency by churches, schools, businesses and the general public. We have seen an increase in the usage of our 4 local centres by around 110%.The circumstances surrounding a crisis are unique to every individual, so the foodbank partners with frontline care professionals, such as health visitors, social workers and other community-based support workers, who are able to identify and refer people facing hunger to the foodbank. As well as receiving nutritionally- balanced 3day food parcels, people are welcomed with a cup of tea, listened to and signposted to agencies that are able to help resolve the underlying cause of the problem.

Swale foodbank is a collaborative project that seeks to engage with the whole community to tackle food poverty in our local area. Would your company be interested in partnering with us to help make a difference in our community? You may like to set up a collection point in your premises where staff {and customers} can donate non- perishable food items (which can be delivered to our centres),or perhaps you would like to do a food drive on a particular day or week of the year? There are lots of fun and easy ways that your company can get involved and make a difference! We are facing a true crisis in relation to being able to continue our vital work and we desperately need more support to fill our store rooms and cover our running costs, so would really appreciate it if you were able to help.
