Health and Wellbeing Checks Explained

Health and Wellbeing Checks at Home or at Our Community Clinics

At Bluebird Care, we believe that staying well is one of the most important parts of maintaining independence. We also understand how reassuring it can be to know that someone is keeping an eye on your loved one’s health and wellbeing, especially when small changes can sometimes be the first sign that extra support is needed.

That is why we offer personalised health and wellbeing checks, carried out either in the comfort of your own home or at one of our community clinics. These checks are designed to provide peace of mind for families, while helping the people we care for stay safe, well and independent for as long as possible.

Our trained Care Experts carry out these checks with kindness, professionalism and attention to detail. They take the time to notice any changes, however small, and keep you informed if there is anything important you need to know. If needed, they can also raise concerns with a healthcare professional quickly and appropriately.

What is a health and wellbeing check?

A health and wellbeing check is a simple way to monitor someone’s overall health and spot any early signs that something may not be quite right. Using specialist equipment, our Care Experts can carry out a range of observations either during a home visit or at one of our community clinics.

We use a nationally recognised scoring system that is also used by the NHS, helping us to monitor key signs and respond promptly if further attention is needed.

This means we can identify concerns early, offer reassurance when everything is well, and help ensure the right action is taken when needed.

What do we check?

Our fully trained Care Experts can monitor a range of important health indicators, including:

  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Temperature
  • Breathing and oxygen levels
  • Alertness
  • General wellbeing through a few simple questions

When are these checks carried out?

Health and wellbeing checks are usually completed during an initial assessment and at care reviews. If someone would benefit from more regular monitoring, we can recommend a frequency that suits their individual needs.

Checks can be carried out in the way that works best for each person, whether that is at home or by attending one of our community clinics.

Like all of our care services, this support is flexible and can be adapted over time as needs change.

Reassurance for the whole family

Having regular health and wellbeing checks can be a real comfort, both for the person receiving care and for those who love them. It means there is an extra layer of support in place, with trusted professionals noticing changes early and helping to prevent small issues from becoming bigger concerns.
