We held our first Memories day for our customers and their family in July 2017.

We held our first Memories day for our customers and their family in July 2017.

Owing to the interest we held it again on the 21st July 2018 at the same location., Roker United Reformed Church. The day was themed as “Elvis” with a good spread of food as well.

This time the highlight of the day was not “Elvis” or the food but one of our customers who spoke about his past in the armed forces and his life. He has not only published a book but also is musically talented ie singing poems and playing the guitar. He kept us spellbound with his stories and songs. He is in the other photo on the righ during his talk. His age, just a young and sprightly 98.5 years and he did really put us younger people to shame with his optimistic view of life. We had fun and laughter, great community engagement and there were tears of joy and emotions when some people met each other after years.

We will be doing this event every year during summer and already looking forward to it.
