Bluebird Care Sunderland is hoping to raise awareness of good nutrition and hydration and promote the importance of maintaining healthy eating within Sunderland and Washington area; covering Houghton, Hylton Castle, Fulwell, Seaburn, Southwick, Witherwack, Marley Potts, South Hylton, Ford Estate, High Barnes, Monwearmouth, Roker, Millfield, Ashbrooke, Pennywell, Tunstall, Shiney Row, Penshaw, Ryhope, Silksworth, Grangetown, Doxford Park, Herrington, Thorny Close, Hastings Hill, Grindon, Springwell, Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton-Le-Spring, Rainton, Newbottle, Albany, Harraton, Oxclose, Washington Village, Lambton and Glebe.
Nutrition & Hydration Week aims to highlight and promote nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and even globally.
As part of this awareness week Nutricia, an organisation who offer advice on advanced medical nutrition, have put together a fact sheet highlighting what a healthy diet entails and tips to improve nutrition. Some of these tips include having plenty of starchy foods, along with fruit and vegetables as well as focusing on foods that are a good energy source.
