Bluebird Care Sunderland & North Durham Celebrates at the Regional Care Awards in Leeds

Four members of our wider team were named finalists across four categories: Live in Carer of the Year, Dementia Champion, Care Expert of the Year and Coordinator of the Year. For our branch here in Sunderland & North Durham, this was a day to reflect on the exceptional standard of care our colleagues bring to customers every single day.

The event itself was a real celebration. There was lovely food throughout the day, plenty of entertainment including a hugely enjoyable round of musical bingo (complete with some brilliant prizes) and dancing to round things off. During the awards ceremony, we also had the pleasure of meeting CEO Jonathan Gardener and catching up with familiar faces from right across the Bluebird Care network.

Congratulations to our finalists Mobola, Michelle, Rachael and Elaine, representing Bluebird Care North Tyneside, North Northumberland and Sunderland & North Durham. We were delighted to see Michelle take home the Dementia Champion award, recognising her outstanding support for customers and families navigating a dementia diagnosis. Mobola was also recognised for her exceptional live in care, having made a real and lasting difference to the life of the gentleman she supports.

Days like this remind us why we do what we do. Every finalist represents the very best of Bluebird Care, and we are incredibly proud to call them our colleagues.
