How we became Bluebird Care Sunderland & Durham North

Julie McLellan founded Bluebird Care North Tyneside, North Northumberland, Sunderland & Durham with a clear vision: to provide high-quality home care services to support individuals in their own homes. Her commitment led to the growth of the business, which now offers a variety of services.

Angus McLellan, with his extensive experience in the NHS and private practice, joined Julie, bringing his clinical expertise to the team. His background in care services for older people helps Bluebird Care navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and ensures customers receive the best possible care.

Together, Julie and Angus embarked on their Bluebird Care journey, expanding from North Tyneside (opened in November 2012) to North Northumberland and, in 2024, to Sunderland and Durham North. They are passionate about transforming the perception of social care, emphasizing that care work is a highly skilled profession that deserves respect. They strive to provide premium, person-centric care, focusing on continuous staff development, recognition, and ensuring the dignity of care recipients. Their aim is always to use their combined experience to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and deliver a best-in-class service.
