Congratulations to Gareth for completing the Five Valleys Walk in aid of Meningitis Now.

One of our Directors, Gareth has completed the 21-mile Five Valleys Walk on Sunday, September 20th. This was in aid of Meningitis Now.

Beginning at Stroud Cricket Club, every year the charity walk goes through Stroud’s five valleys of Painswick, Slad, Toadsmoor, Chalford and Nailsworth. The sponsored walk supports the charity’s lifesaving research as well as raising awareness and supporting those who suffer from meningitis. Here is an image of the 21-mile walk.

Carrie Bater, event organiser at Meningitis Now said: “We would like to thank everyone who took part on the day for playing their part in this fantastic event. Sunday was a fabulous day with a great atmosphere and lots of smiling people.

“All money raised from ticket sales and individual fundraising will go towards Meningitis Now’s research and awareness work, and supporting people living with the impact of the disease.”

So far, over £27,000 has been raised with donations continuing to flood in.

What is Meningitis?
Meningitis is the inflammation of the membranes that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Some bacteria that cause meningitis can also cause septicaemia (blood poisoning).
