Rosalind Cerqua our Carer from Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland, has been named as a finalist at this year's Lincolnshire Care Awards.

One of our care workers who joined the care industry to help others while grieving the loss of her mother has been shortlisted for a countywide award.

Rosalind has been shortlisted for the Rising Star category, an award which celebrates the passion, progress, and positive impact individuals new to the care sector have made.

Rosalind will discover whether she has been successful at a black-tie awards evening at the County Assembly Room, in Lincoln, on March 24 next year.

“I’m very honoured and overwhelmed at being nominated for the Rising Star Award,” she said.

“I am so looking forward to the gala event in March with my Bluebird Care team, I am so very grateful to them all.”

After the unexpected loss of her mother, Rosalind was eager to care for others and joined Bluebird Care.

Despite still grieving, Rosalind immediately fell in love with her job and within two years has become a key member of the team.

“Rosalind is an incredible individual, said Leisa MacKenzie, Bluebird Care director. "Time and time again she goes the extra mile for our customers and always makes them feel valued and supported.

"She is a highly valued member of our team and we’re extremely proud of her."

Rosalind was recognised for consistently delivering a high standard of care, providing outstanding support to the office and care team, and going above and beyond in her home care visits.

Specialising in intricate and tailored care plans, Rosalind 'often exceeds expectation, demonstrating empathy and commitment'.

She was also noted for the bonds built with each individual and their families.
