Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland team learns from local Admiral Nurse to enhance Dementia support

Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland is continuing to invest in the development of its care teams by strengthening knowledge and skills in dementia support. The team recently welcomed a nurse from the Rutland County Council Admiral Nurse Service to share expert insights and practical guidance on supporting people living with dementia and their families, helping to further enhance person-centred care across the service.

Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland is committed to continually developing its team’s knowledge and skills to ensure customers receive the very best care and support.

 As part of this commitment, the team recently welcomed a nurse from Rutland County Council Admiral Nurse service, to one of its team meetings to share her expertise and provide valuable insights into supporting people living with dementia and their families.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who offer expert guidance, practical advice, and emotional support to families affected by dementia. They work closely with carers, healthcare professionals, and organisations to improve understanding of dementia and help people navigate the challenges that can come with the condition.

During the session, the Admiral nurse was able to share her knowledge with Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland’s care professionals, helping them gain a deeper understanding of dementia and providing practical strategies to support customers in their day-to-day lives.

The Admiral nurse shared : “It was a pleasure to meet the Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland team and share knowledge about dementia care. Care professionals play a vital role in supporting people to remain independent and live well at home, and opportunities like this help ensure they feel confident and equipped to provide the best possible support. By working together and sharing expertise, we can make a real difference to the lives of people living with dementia and their families.”

For Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland, building relationships with local specialists such as Admiral Nurses is an important part of ensuring customers receive holistic, person-centred care.

This service is funded by Rutland County Council. To access the support from the service either the main carer or person living with dementia must live in Rutland.
