Living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia at any time brings challenges and the coronavirus pandemic has made daily life much harder for those with dementia in our communities.

Being a community care provider we see this every day and want to ensure that people affected by dementia have the support they need.

Will Mcgettigan our Field Care Supervisor and Dementia Friends Champion is running the Stafford half marathon with Chris Lunn on Sunday 20th March 2022.  Chris’s parents were both diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had care provided to them by Bluebird Care Stafford.  Alzheimers society is very close to their hearts, and they hope to raise money for this amazing charity.

Donations will support the Alzheimer’s society’s great work in creating dementia-friendly communities, supporting those caring for individuals living with dementia and their work to find a cure. They will also help fund their emergency appeal, helping people across the country affected by dementia survive the crisis by enabling them to access the basic necessities they need to live.

Update

Huge congratulations and well done to Will and Chris on completing the Stafford Half Marathon in excellent time!! So far they have managed to raise a massive £1318 for Alzheimer's Society - we are extremely proud of you both.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, and for the amazing support and generosity in helping them raise money for such a worthwhile cause.  There's still time left and they would love your help, no matter how big or small, your donation will really make a difference in the battle against dementia.  For anyone wishing to donate, please click HERE.
