Home care in Hockley

Home care in Hockley from local Care Experts

It's good to be home. If your mum or dad lives in Hockley and needs a little more help, we can support them to stay in the home they love.

Most families who call us are sons and daughters. Some live nearby. Others are juggling work, children and a parent who lives miles away. We know how much there is to think about, so we keep things simple and talk you through each step. Bluebird Care Essex and Redbridge has been established for 17 years.

What we offer in Hockley

  • Visiting home care, with 30, 45 or 60 minute visits. Many of our customers have two or three one-hour visits a day, seven days a week.
  • Live-in care, where a Care Expert lives in your parent's home to give support around the clock.
  • Dementia care that keeps routines familiar and the day calm.
  • Companionship, for a chat, a walk or help getting out and about.
  • Respite, so a family member who usually helps can take a proper break.
  • Long sits for longer stretches of support during the day.
  • Waking nights and sleeping nights, so you know someone is there overnight.

Our promises to you

We arrive when we say we will. We stay for the full visit. Before we leave, we always ask "is there anything else?" That might mean a cup of tea, a sit and a chat, or bringing in the washing.

How it works

  1. A free home visit. We come to your parent's home in Hockley to meet them, and you too if you'd like to be there. We listen to what matters to them.
  2. A care plan. Together we write a plan around their routine, likes and needs.
  3. Meet your Care Experts. We introduce the Care Experts who will visit, so your parent sees familiar faces.
  4. Regular reviews. Needs change. We review the plan with you and adjust it.

Supporting Hockley families

Many Hockley families have lived here for decades and know every path in Hockley Woods. The woods cover over 130 hectares and are cared for by Rochford District Council, with a car park off Main Road. With the right support, a gentle walk there can stay part of the week.

Hockley station is on the line between Southend Victoria and Shenfield, with trains on to London Liverpool Street. If you live in London or along the line, it's a straightforward journey to visit, and we'll keep you updated in between.

If your parent is coming home from Southend University Hospital, we can talk with you about the support they'll need once they're home.
