Nutrition and Hydration Week, celebrated every year in March, highlights the importance of keeping hydrated and eating properly. Bluebird Care Southampton visited Padwell Road Day Centre on Monday 11th March, delivering fruit, bananas and water to their day centre attendees.

Care Assistants, Viv and Shareen and Marketing Assistant Sarah spent some time with the Padwell Road visitors. They gave out chopped up strawberries, bananas and water bottles with straws. The visitors were very grateful for the fruit and water, gladly tucking into the fruit in between their seated exercises, painting and dominoes.

After eating many strawberries, one visitor remarked: “I feel like I’ve eaten you out of house and home!”

At Bluebird Care, ensuring that customers are fully hydrated and eating properly is essential. We use a system called PASSsystem to set care tasks for each care visit to be completed by our care assistants. Using this, we make sure to monitor how much our customers are eating and drinking in every care call. The customer’s families are able to see the updates through PASSsystem as well so they can monitor the health of their loved one, no matter where they are in the world.

If you’re worried about a loved one and whether they’re eating and drinking properly, contact our team on 02380 018221 or on southampton@bluebirdcare.co.uk to see how we can help.
