Leading care at home provider, Bluebird Care, urge people looking to start a business to consider franchising.

In support of Scottish Franchise Week, the homecare provider recognises the potential for franchising to further contribute to the Scottish economy. The success of franchise businesses has been linked to generating greater wealth and creating jobs in local communities.
Franchising is also associated with increasing the awareness of socially minded initiatives such as businesses implementing the Living Wage for their staff. This has aligned Bluebird Care’s Edinburgh and South Lanarkshire offices with good business practice that benefits employers and employees.
Commenting on Scottish Franchise Week, director of Bluebird Care South Lanarkshire, Brian McAuley said, “I was invited to talk to people considering buying a franchise, and I was delighted to share with them my experience of leaving employment, stepping into franchising and the benefits that the support from a leading franchisor can bring to help create a business to be proud of and to serve our community.” He added, “I feel it’s important to consider franchising as one approach to starting your own business. The business model and support systems are proven and help ensure the business is a success.”
The British Franchise Association state that 90% of franchisees report profitability and less than 4% close, compared to half to two thirds of independent start-ups that statistics show will fail in the first 3 years.
