Bluebird Care Lanarkshire Introduces Dementia Bus Experience to Raise Awareness
Bluebird Care Lanarkshire , located at in Hamilton at 117 Cadzow Street, was delighted to introduce the Dementia Bus Experience for the very first time in Lanarkshire , offering participants a hands-on, immersive opportunity to understand the challenges faced by those living with dementia.
Taking place over two days in May, the Dementia Bus Experience provided an interactive and in-person insight into the cognitive and sensory difficulties experienced by individuals suffering from dementia—an illness affecting over one million people across the UK. The initiative was designed to raise awareness, foster empathy, and enhance understanding among families, friends, and caregivers.
We saw over 60 people take part in the experience and it included a mixture of local businesses, charities , and volunteer groups- so a great variety of representation from around Lanarkshire.
Maurice Logie, Managing Director of Bluebird Care Lanarkshire, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating: "As a care provider, we understand all too well the profound impact that dementia has - not only on individuals but also on their families and loved ones. We set out to raise awareness and provide a truly unique experience, helping people gain a deeper understanding of the realities of living with dementia. The response has been overwhelming, and we look forward to not only bringing the experience back but also expanding its reach within the community."
Bluebird Care Lanarkshire remains committed to providing high-quality home care while actively supporting initiatives that educate and engage the local community on important healthcare issues.
