Meet the team
I have been a business owner for several decades, firstly as an Insurance Broker and now in the Home Care sector. I have always been interested in helping people and so this is an ideal opportunity for me. When doing some market research I quickly came across Bluebird Care as they have a large network of offices across the UK and I really liked their ethos and business culture.
My aim at Bluebird Care South Lanarkshire is to build a strong team based upon a tried and tested franchise model. The office staff have regular team meetings and are there to help with the management, supervision and training of all our Carers. The ultimate goal is to give great quality care to our customers who are always at the centre of all that we do.
We can offer Care and Support at every stage of life – ranging from companionship all the way up to 24 hour “Live In” support
Away from work I am part of the leadership team in a local church, enjoy walks in the country (and on the golf course) as well as spending time with family.
I have been the Registered Manager at Bluebird Care (South Lanarkshire) since April 2018.I have worked in the Care Sector for almost 34 years managing a wide variety of services including Learning Disabilities, Autism, Homeless Services, Addiction Services, Home Care and Childcare Services.
I am driven by a deep passion to ensure people are supported and enabled to live their lives in a way that meets their personal goals and aspirations; I constantly strive to promote empowerment and personal choice.
The level of positive feedback about the quality of care and support is very encouraging and it is a privilege to be part of Bluebird Care’s ethos of exceptionally high standards of care provision.
Andrew's background is in IT, he then moved on to spend 6 years in Indonesia where he coordinated curriculum development with the International Baccalaureate Organization whilst also networking and fundraising for orphanages. Upon returning to Scotland in 2009 he has continued to develop his career, moving to Bluebird Care in 2014.
Jilly joined Bluebird Care August 2017. She is passionate about care and is focussed on ensuring all our staff deliver the highest quality of service at all times.
I have worked with Bluebird Care for three years, and thoroughly enjoy my job. When I came to Bluebird Care I was a Carer Assistant but now I am a Care Supervisor.
Since becoming a Care Supervisor in October 2019 I still have contact with our customers and feel it is especially important that I continue to have a good repour with them and their family members too. This lets them see I have not disappeared.
The customers are important to me and I get a lot of satisfaction seeing them receive a high-quality standard of care. As a care company Bluebird Care South Lanarkshire always give 100%
My background was in education and in that setting I saw first -hand the difference that taking the time and effort to help someone else can make. So now at Bluebird Care I am part of a team that endeavours to do the same for our customers that enables them to live safely at home.
My role involves everything from the first voice many will hear when they call the office to being involved in our safe recruitment procedures and lots in between .
The other main focus I have is a family that continues to grow up fast and I am happy to play my part with plenty of “grandmother duties” – I also enjoy holidays abroad and attend a church here in Hamilton.
