"My name is Cheryl, I am the registered manager of Bluebird Care South Glos. I have worked in social care for over 30 years! I have worked for Bluebird care for almost 4 years, I work with amazing care workers and office staff every day. I am incredibly proud of everyone I work with, we are all passionate and genuinely care about our lovely customers and their wellbeing.
I started working in care when I was 17 years old in a home with adults with learning disabilities, I had no experience and it was quite scary to be honest! However I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I worked there and over my career I have worked in different social care settings which helped me gain my knowledge.
It is a pleasure to come to work everyday and still have the same passion now as I did over 30 years ago! Care work is not just a job, there is career progression if this is what you want, I am a prime example – 30 years and still going!"
