Having a boogie with the Grace Court Goldies
Bluebird Care gets into the swing of things with the Golden Oldies singing group in Downend, dropping off some eggs and bunnies in time for EasterBluebird Care (South Glos) has now been proudly sponsoring the Golden Oldies for over a year, as they completely share the values we hold dear, namely supporting vulnerable members in the community.
Loneliness affects millions of older people in the UK who are living in isolation and missing out on regular contact with their family and friends. Getting together, making friends and having fun are the basis of this charity.
The Golden Oldies Charitable Trust is built on the well-documented fact that singing is good for you, it encourages good breathing, brightens up your day and gives you a chance to see and meet other people. It also puts a smile on your face.
Goldies currently run five sessions in five locations across South Gloucestershire: Yate, Downend, Filton, Kingswood and Stoke Gifford. Most of the South Glos sessions are hosted by Jeanie Fairnington, seen below with Jack Whitfield from Bluebird Care.
