Meet the carers and support staff who provide home care and live-in care across South Gloucestershire. Each biography introduces the people behind our care, outlining their role, experience and responsibilities, and showing how quality care is delivered and coordinated locally.

Jack & Sophie Whitfield - Directors
We were drawn into the care industry after seeing first-hand the wide variation in care quality. At the same time, we each had a grandfather receiving care. One experience was exceptional, while the other fell far short. It highlighted how much difference high-quality care makes, and how few providers truly deliver it. Now, with over 11 years’ experience providing Outstanding home care, as rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our guiding principle is simple. We deliver the care we would want for our own family. Our team is an extension of our customers’ families, and there is no better feeling than hearing the difference our care makes. Outside of work, we are kept busy with our three children. This leaves Jack with less time for fishing and cricket, though our eldest is now old enough to join him.

Cheryl Beard - Registered Manager
Cheryl leads Bluebird Care South Gloucestershire with dedication and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional home care. With years of experience in care management, she ensures our services not only meet regulatory standards but truly make a difference to each customer’s quality of life. Cheryl is passionate about empowering her team to provide care that feels personal, dignified, and compassionate.

Kathryn McCormack - Clinical Nurse Lead
As our Band 7 Registered Nurse, Kathryn brings advanced clinical knowledge to the team, supporting staff with complex care needs such as wound management, insulin administration, and tracheostomy care. Her clinical background helps bridge the gap between healthcare and home care, ensuring our customers receive safe, professional support tailored to their health needs.

Jenny Gold - Regional Business Development Manager
Jenny supports the growth and development by creating strong community engagement and access to high-quality home care services. Jenny works closely with local companies to identify opportunities for improvement and partnerships. Jenny is passionate about our ethos and reaching more families with compassionate, reliable care at home.

Suresh Singh - Business Development Manager
Suresh is our Business Development Manager. He brings a wealth of experience in the care sector, specialising in Live-In, Domiciliary and complex support. "It’s a pleasure being part of the Bluebird family as Business Development Manager for such an outstanding organisation with fantastic ethics, and I’m looking forward to learning and achieving together."

Megan Harries - Service Quality Manager
Megan oversees the quality of care across all our services, ensuring that every visit reflects the high standards Bluebird Care is known for. Her background in health and social care inspires her to continually improve the customer experience through training, feedback, and monitoring. Megan is passionate about creating a culture where quality and compassion go hand-in-hand.

Kelly Hawker - Senior Care Manager
Kelly has been a valued part of the Bluebird Care team for many years, supporting both customers and colleagues with professionalism and care. As Senior Care Manager, she oversees daily operations, mentors carer teams, and ensures that every customer’s care plan runs smoothly. Her long-standing dedication makes her a trusted and familiar face to many families.

Zoe Higgs - Complex Care Manager
Zoe leads our complex care service, supporting our teams to make sure all our customers' specialist health needs are catered for through tailored care plans. With extensive experience in the health care sector, she ensures every customer receives safe, high-quality, and individualised support in the comfort of their home. Zoe works closely with healthcare professionals and families to maintain continuity of care and uphold our highest complex care standards.

Jade Mortimore - Care Manager
Jade leads her team of care professionals with a proactive and compassionate approach. She works closely with customers and their families to create care plans that meet evolving needs while maintaining independence at home. With a strong background in care coordination, Jade’s organised and person-focused style helps ensure a reliable, high-quality service.

Rebecca Grant - Care Manager
Rebecca supports our care team and customers with enthusiasm and empathy, ensuring care packages run seamlessly and always reflect each person’s preferences. With her experience in planning and managing home care, Rebecca takes pride in building trusting relationships and keeping communication open between the office, care team, and families.

Chibwe Mulubwa - Care Coordinator
Chibwe joined us in May 2022 and is one of our Care Coordinators. Chibwe has just over two years of previous experience in care. "I'm so grateful to be part of such an amazing organisation that has a fantastic culture. I'm looking forward to learning and working alongside the team."

Michelle Williams - Care Coordinator
Michelle plays a key role in scheduling visits, matching carers with customers, and keeping our service running smoothly day-to-day. Her organisation and problem-solving skills make her a vital part of the team, ensuring that every customer receives consistent and timely support.

Cathy Fry - Recruitment Officer
Cathy leads on attracting, recruiting, and supporting new carers to join our Bluebird Care family. With a warm and welcoming approach, she ensures every new team member feels confident and valued from day one. Her background in people-focused roles helps her spot individuals who share our caring ethos and community spirit.

Katy Seal - Finance Manager
Katy oversees our financial systems and ensures that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. Reliable and detail-oriented, she keeps customer accounts accurate and transparent while providing friendly support to families and colleagues alike.

Alaula March - Administrator
Alaula manages the daily administrative flow that keeps the Bluebird Care office running efficiently. From handling enquiries to supporting care staff with documentation, she ensures processes run smoothly and are responsive. Known for her calm, helpful manner, she’s often the first friendly voice our customers hear.
