Behind the Care: The People and Moments at Bluebird Care

When you think about care, it’s easy to focus on the practical support someone receives. But at Bluebird Care, we know there’s much more to the service than what happens during a visit.

It’s about people working together to build relationships, support families and make sure each person receives care that feels right for them. It’s about the little moments that brighten someone’s day and the connections that make us all part of a community we’re proud to call home.

Across Shropshire, our team works every day to support people to live well at home, while staying connected to those around them, places and activities that matter most. We take the time to understand what matters to you and your family, creating care that fits naturally around your life. And because life can change, your care can change with it too, giving you reassurance that support is there whenever you need it.

Celebrating moments that matter

Some of the most memorable moments at Bluebird Care are often the simplest.

Every year on Blue Monday, our team delivers flowers to every person we care for. What can often be seen as a difficult day becomes an opportunity to spread a little happiness and remind the people we support just how valued they are.

As Claire Gwilliam, our Care Manager at Bluebird Care Shropshire, says, “It’s a small act of kindness, but it has a huge impact.”

For our Care Experts, it’s also a chance to spend a few extra moments with the people they support, share a smile and see their faces light up.

It’s a tradition that our team looks forward to every year and one that captures how much the little moments can mean.

The people behind the care

Behind every care visit is a wider team working together to make sure our customers and their families feel supported.

From Care Experts and coordinators to supervisors and managers working behind the scenes, everyone has an important role to play.

One of the people at the heart of our Oswestry team is Lead Care Coordinator, Emma Lloyd. With more than 20 years of experience in the care sector, Emma works closely with customers, families and local health and social care teams.

For Emma, care is all about personal connection and clear communication. She’s just one of the many people who bring their own experience, personality and perspective to our local team.

Our wider Bluebird community also includes Si King, Bluebird Care’s Ambassador for Dementia Awareness. Following his own mum’s experience with Alzheimer’s, Si is passionate about helping families feel more confident talking about care and understanding their options.

Care that works around you

Everyone’s care needs are different, which is why our support is designed around the individual, not a process.

From visiting care and companionship to live-in care, respite care and specialist support, our team can support with a wide range of needs. This includes dementia, Parkinson’s, physical disabilities, stroke recovery, palliative and end-of-life care.

But care isn’t simply about the type of support you receive. It’s about how that support fits into your life. Whether you need a little extra help around the home, support getting out and about, companionship during the day or more specialist care, we take the time to understand what will genuinely work for you.

Your care package can also be reviewed as your needs change. Whether you need additional visits, extra support or a different type of assistance, we can work with you and your family to make sure your care continues to feel right.

A new home for our team

As an exciting update from us, we’ve officially moved into a fantastic new office space, giving our team a bigger, brighter base to continue supporting families right across Shropshire. As for our community, our home is at the heart of everything we do. Although our address has changed, the friendly faces and dedicated care you rely on remain exactly the same.
