Our 2nd Bluebird Care Sevenoaks-sponsored Dementia Café was held at the Village Hall in Eynsford on 09-Mar, 2018, and was well attended, both by our customers and some local residents with no previous connection to Bluebird Care.

The theme was Easter, with the team supervising a workshop whereby everyone made their very own Easter bonnets! No single bonnet stood out, all were very strong contenders, so everybody received a prize for their efforts!

Jackie West, the Eynsford Village Community Warden, spoke about common scams that fraudsters are known to attempt to pull at the expense of vulnerable residents, and had some helpful advice re what do if you suspect that you, or someone you know, might be the innocent victim of a calculated scam. Everyone was invited to share their own thoughts and experiences.

Carers First, a charity who support adult and young people providing care to a relative, neighbour or relative on a voluntary basis (providing emotional and practical support, advice, information, guidance, access to carers assessments, training, events, social groups, activities trips and more), also gave a short presentation re the work they do and how to get in touch with them.

Obi, our ever-popular and incredibly docile French bulldog, was also in attendance offering his very own pet therapy and keeping everybody entertained.

One daughter of an attendee wrote to us to thank us, saying that the event was “so friendly and well-organised”, all the “staff and volunteers were amazing” and her mum had “wonderful time”.

Our Dementia Café take place every 2nd Friday of the month from 10am – 12pm at Eynsford Village Hall, and are open to all. For a full programme of events please contact us using the telephone number or email address at the top of this page.
